A recurrent volcanic eruption started in a non populated area on Reykjanes Peninsula on 22 August 2024.
All flights are operating and Iceland Travel is receiving our guests and operating our tours as normal. The main road around Iceland – the Ring Road – also remains unaffected and is open for travel.
Outside of the eruption area, life in Iceland is going on as usual. The country remains a safe destination.
