Things to do in Vopnafjörður

The fjord valley boasts two of the best known salmon rivers in Iceland that have attracted people like Prince Charles and George Bush Sr.

But salmon fishing isn’t the only thing Vopnafjörður has to offer. As with so many other places in Iceland, hiking is a popular pastime, as well as horse riding and mountain biking.

If you are looking for a relaxing afternoon,  you can enjoy opportunities for sea angling, golfing, bird watching or simply chilling out at the local geothermal pool.
